Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the culinary team at a prestigious luxury restaurant in Stellenbosch.

Package & Benefits

• Salary: R24,000 – R27,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)
• Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape
• Live-out position (own transport and valid driver’s license required)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation
• Support menu execution, ensuring dishes reflect seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and consistency
• Manage stock rotation, assist with ordering, and monitor kitchen costs
• Ensure strict compliance with hygiene, safety, and health regulations
• Contribute to menu development, special events, and guest dining experiences
• Uphold operational efficiency while encouraging creativity and innovation in the kitchen

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior CDP in fine dining or luxury hospitality environments
• Formal culinary qualification or equivalent professional training
• Strong culinary skills with excellent attention to detail
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations, stock control, and food costing
