About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and strategic Social Media Manager to spearhead their presence in the e-commerce sector, operating remotely with primary focus from Tembisa . This critical role involves crafting and executing a compelling social media strategy that drives brand awareness, customer engagement, and direct sales. You will be at the forefront of developing creative content, managing online communities, and leveraging social platforms to connect with our target audience. This is an exciting chance for a social media guru to shape the brand's digital voice and contribute to its growth in a competitive online market, collaborating with marketing, sales, and customer service departments to ensure brand consistency and optimal customer journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive social media strategy across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.) aligned with e-commerce goals.
• Create, curate, and schedule engaging and high-quality social media content , including text, image, and video formats, tailored for each platform.
• Monitor social media channels for industry trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity, responding promptly and professionally.
• Build and nurture an engaged online community, fostering positive interactions and driving traffic to e-commerce sites.
• Analyze social media performance metrics, generate reports, and use insights to refine strategies and improve engagement.
• Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to ensure brand consistency and execute integrated campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Proven track record of 3-5 years in social media management , preferably within an e-commerce environment.
• In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms, their algorithms, and best practices for engagement and growth.
• Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms.
• Excellent content creation skills, including copywriting, basic graphic design, and video editing abilities.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce principles and how social media contributes to sales funnels.
