Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer for George, Western Cape. The role covers feasibility studies, design, and implementation support for municipal and industrial water projects.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, perform hydraulic modeling, and ensure compliance with SA environmental licensing. A Pr Eng is preferred; strong communication and project management are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering with a focus on water resources.
• Minimum 7 years of professional water resources experience.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software.
• Knowledge of SA environmental licensing and water rights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and develop conceptual designs for water supply and distribution.
• Perform hydraulic modeling for rivers, stormwater, and urban drainage.
• Design and manage water retaining structures, pipelines and pumping stations.
• Assess water resources and develop management plans.
• Prepare detailed designs, tender docs, and construction supervision reports.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, urban planners, and engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with environmental legislation and water licenses.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
• Contribute to business development and client engagement.
