Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join its expanding team in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role focuses on planning, design, and implementation of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure to deliver sustainable services to communities.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, PrEng/PrTech Eng registration, and at least 8 years of relevant experience, with strong hydraulic modeling skills and knowledge of SA water legislation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a Water Resources focus.
• PrEng or PrTech Eng registration.
• Minimum 8 years of water/wastewater engineering experience.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software: EPANET, SWMM, MIKE.
• Knowledge of SA water legislation and environmental regulations.
• Experience with project management and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage water supply systems including treatment plants, pipelines, and reservoirs.
• Design wastewater collection networks and treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and sewerage systems.
• Prepare feasibility studies, design reports, and environmental impact assessments.
• Develop tender documents and specifications for water and wastewater projects.
• Oversee construction and commissioning of water infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with water quality regulations and environmental standards in Polokwane, Limpopo.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
• Conduct site investigations and assess existing infrastructure conditions.
• Stay updated on best practices and emerging technologies in water resource management.
