The role emphasizes developing detailed engineering designs, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring environmental and water quality compliance across the Western Cape projects.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with focus on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 5 years of water resources or infrastructure design experience.
• Pr Eng designation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer specializing in Water Resources to join their established practice in George . This role is critical for managing and developing water infrastructure projects throughout the beautiful Western Cape region. You will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of systems related to water supply, drainage, and wastewater management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in hydraulics and hydrology, coupled with excellent project management skills. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable water solutions and impact community development directly within the George area.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment plants, and stormwater systems.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and flood control systems.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for water resource projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including municipal authorities and environmental consultants.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in water resource engineering and infrastructure design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) designation is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC-RAS) and CAD platforms.
• Solid understanding of water management principles and environmental legislation in South Africa.
• Proven ability to manage projects from conception through to construction supervision.
