Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of our clients' network in Mahikeng, North West. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote flexibility in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of telecom network experience, strong IP routing knowledge (BGP/OSPF/MPLS), and hands-on vendor equipment expertise (Cisco/Juniper/Huawei).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, telecom, CS, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive telecom network engineering experience.
• Expertise in IP networking and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/MPLS).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper/Huawei gear.
• Familiarity with Nagios or SolarWinds for monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and manage complex telecommunications network solutions.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot to ensure uptime and service quality.
• Conduct regular network audits and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate new technology and services.
• Develop and maintain network documentation and SOPs.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Evaluate and recommend new hardware/software to enhance capabilities and security.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support.
