Placements24 is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to bolster security for our client’s Nelspruit operations, protecting network infrastructure and sensitive data from evolving cyber threats. You will design, implement, and manage security solutions in a telecoms setting, ensuring compliance with industry standards in a hybrid work model.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, strong knowledge of network protocols, and security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Security+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years in network security engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and threat analysis.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Security+.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain network security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control systems.
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches and anomalies, responding effectively to security incidents.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all network design and operational activities.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques relevant to the telecoms industry.
