Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Network Security Analyst for its Nelspruit, Mpumalanga team. You will monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents, deploy security tools, and drive vulnerability assessments in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires 4+ years in network security, strong knowledge of firewalls (Palo Alto/Cisco ASA), SIEM (Splunk/QRadar) and endpoint security, with relevant certifications preferred. Collaboration with IT teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in network security analysis or similar.
• Knowledge of network protocols, security architectures and common vulnerabilities.
• Hands-on with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM and endpoint security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and systems for security breaches, intrusions, and cyber threats.
• Investigate security incidents, analyze impact, and develop response and recovery plans.
• Implement and manage security tools including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay informed about cybersecurity threats and trends.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.
• Collaborate with IT and network teams to integrate security into the lifecycle.
• Respond to security alerts and escalations in a timely manner.
• Maintain documentation of security configurations, incidents, and policies.
