Placements24 is seeking a Telecoms Network Security Specialist in Bloemfontein, blending hybrid work with in-office collaboration to protect critical telecom networks.

The candidate should have 5+ years in network security, strong TCP/IP knowledge, and hands-on firewall/IDS/IPS and SIEM experience. Certifications like CISSP, CompTIA Security+ or CEH are highly desirable, with excellent analytical and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security, preferably in telecommunications.
• CISSP, CompTIA Security+ or CEH are desirable.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM and endpoint protection.

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM).
• Monitor network traffic and logs for breaches and policy violations.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Respond to security incidents with containment and recovery.
