Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecom Network Security Engineer for a hybrid role based in Polokwane, Limpopo. You will design, implement, and manage advanced security measures across the telecom network, coordinating with engineering and IT teams to uphold a strong security posture.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of network security experience, expertise with Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM tools, and holds relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Cybersec/IT or related field.
• 6+ years of network security experience in telecom environments.
• Proven expertise with security technologies: firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and WAFs.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and manage network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM).
• Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
• Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor traffic and respond to security incidents and breaches.
• Configure and maintain security devices for optimal performance.
• Collaborate with other teams to embed security in designs and deployments.
• Stay updated on cybersecurity threats relevant to telecoms.
• Provide security awareness training to staff.
• Participate in security architecture reviews and propose improvements.
• Lead incident response activities including containment and recovery.
