Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Telecom Systems Integrator to join the Randburg, Gauteng team. You will design, implement, and test complex integrated telecom solutions, coordinating with vendors and internal engineering groups to ensure seamless interoperability and reliable network performance.

The role requires strong IP networking, mobile core, and transmission knowledge, plus scripting for automation, and the ability to lead projects in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecommunications systems integration or network engineering.
• Deep knowledge of IP networking, routing (BGP/OSPF), MPLS and Ethernet.
• Experience with mobile core networks (MSC/HLR/EPC/5G Core).
• Familiarity with DWDM, SDH, and microwave transmission.
• Scripting for automation (Python, Bash) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with virtualization (NFV, VMware) and cloud platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect integrated telecommunications systems with interoperability across components.
• Develop and execute integration test plans for hardware, software, and configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues during deployment or operation.
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure products meet integration requirements.
• Document integration processes and system configurations thoroughly.
• Provide technical leadership to junior engineers on integration projects.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve integration efficiency and performance.
• Manage multiple integration projects with timely delivery and quality.
