Placements24 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks a Senior Telecommunications Systems Engineer to lead design, deployment and optimisation of telecom systems. You will ensure high availability of voice, data and video networks in a hybrid work setup. The role requires deep technical knowledge, strong project management, and expertise with PBX/VoIP, UC platforms and network monitoring. You will mentor junior engineers and drive projects from conception to completion.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years hands-on experience in telecommunications systems engineering.
• Strong IP networking, SIP/H.323 VoIP, and UC technologies.
• Experience with PBX systems Cisco CallManager, Avaya; UC platforms Teams/Webex.
• Proficiency diagnosing issues across voice and data networks.
• Certs CIPT, CCNA Voice or equivalent are advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain telecommunications systems including PBX, VoIP, UC platforms, and mobile network elements.
• Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance for uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in voice and data networks.
• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate, procure, and integrate new technologies.
• Develop and maintain system documentation including diagrams and procedures.
• Provide technical support to junior engineers and operations teams.
• Manage telecom projects from conception to completion, on time and within budget.
• Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning for future demand.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
