Job summary

Placements24 in Mpumalanga, South Africa, seeks a Senior Telecom Systems Engineer to design, implement and optimize complex telecom systems across mobile networks, fixed-line infrastructure and data transmission. This role offers a hybrid work model with on-site collaboration in Nelspruit and remote flexibility.

You will lead system integration, performance testing and documentation, mentor junior engineers, and stay current with GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in telecommunications systems engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of mobile network technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G), fixed-line systems, and VoIP.
• Proficiency in network protocols, data communication, and system integration.
• Experience with system monitoring, diagnostic tools, and performance analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid remote and office environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage telecommunication systems and infrastructure.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of all telecom systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system performance and connectivity.
