Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Information Security Architect in Polokwane to design and oversee secure network architectures, implement advanced security controls, and drive security standards across the enterprise. The role requires deep expertise in TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and cloud security integrations.

The successful candidate will shape the organisation's network security posture, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive information security experience with emphasis on network security.
• Experience designing and implementing complex enterprise network security solutions.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing (BGP/OSPF), firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and WAFs.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, CCIE Security, or GIAC are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure network architectures including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation.
• Develop and maintain network security standards, policies, and procedures.
• Evaluate and implement new security technologies to enhance defense.
• Perform threat modeling and risk assessments for network infrastructure and changes.
• Mentor junior security staff and share knowledge across the security team.
