Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecom Network Engineer for our client in Bloemfontein, focusing on design, deployment and maintenance of advanced telecom networks. You will drive reliability, scalability and performance of regional services, collaborating with operations, sales and support to align network capabilities with business goals.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years in telecom networking, strong know-how of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF and MPLS, and hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper/Huawei
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunications network engineering.
- Proficiency with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS and related telecom protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper and Huawei equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and deploy scalable telecom networks (fiber, cellular, microwave).
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis.
- Develop and implement network security measures to protect data.
- Collaborate with operations, sales and support to align network with goals.
- Manage network upgrade projects with minimal service disruption.
- Create and maintain network diagrams, configurations and procedures.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices.
