Placements24 seeks a Senior Technical Artist in Benoni to bridge art and technology across our projects. You will design efficient pipelines, develop shaders, and work with engineers to integrate assets into real-time engines, ensuring optimal performance and visual quality.

You will mentor artists, research new techniques, and contribute to a collaborative, innovation-driven team in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Artist in Arts & Entertainment with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, MEL, C#).
• Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine and shader optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines, tools, and workflows for artists.
• Create and optimize shaders, materials, and VFX for real-time engines.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate art assets into the game engine.
• Troubleshoot art asset performance and implementation issues.
• Provide technical support and training to the art team.
• Research and implement new technologies to improve output and efficiency.
