Placements24 is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join a Stellenbosch studio. You will bridge art and technology, developing pipelines, tools, and workflows that empower the art team to create stunning visuals.

You will optimize assets for real-time performance across platforms, create shaders and lighting setups, and collaborate with engineers and artists to troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Art, or related field.
• 7+ years as Technical Artist in games/interactive media.
• Proficient in Python, MEL, C#, with Unreal Engine and Unity experience.
• Strong understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, animation, rendering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain art pipelines, tools, and scripts to enhance art production efficiency and quality.
• Optimize art assets for real-time performance across platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers and artists to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions.
• Create shaders, materials, and lighting setups that meet artistic and technical requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the art team, fostering best practices in Stellenbosch.
• Research and implement new technologies and techniques to improve art asset creation and integration.
