Clicks Group in Cape Town seeks a Senior Systems Analyst – Healthcare to support and enhance pharmacy, digital pharmacy and clinic systems within IT Healthcare. You will ensure stability, security and performance while enabling practical technology solutions for daily operations.

You will gather requirements, coordinate tests, mentor staff and collaborate with vendors to deliver transformations in line with enterprise architecture and governance.

Qualifications

3 years’ experience in system design, infrastructure or specialist support roles with significant exposure to Healthcare systems.
Experience collaborating with developers and senior analysts.
Experience delivering large-scale IT projects and system transformations.
Retail, healthcare, or omnichannel analytics experience desirable.
Knowledge of operational Pharmacy and Clinic systems desirable.

Responsibilities

Engage stakeholders to elicit and document requirements, user stories and solution specs.
Plan, coordinate system testing; manage defects and releases.
Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate resolutions.

Introduction

We are looking to recruit a The Senior Systems Analyst – Healthcare to work within IT Healthcare Team within the Group IT Department. The role will be based at our Head Office in Cape town and will be reporting into the IT Technical Team Lead – Healthcare.

Job Purpose

The Senior Systems Analyst – Healthcare supports the delivery of the healthcare technology strategy by providing operational support and contributing to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of solutions across pharmacy, digital pharmacy and clinic environments. This role helps ensure that healthcare systems remain stable, secure, scalable and high performing, while supporting the delivery of practical technology solutions that meet business needs and improve day-to-day operations.

Job Objectives

Engage business and technical stakeholders to elicit, validate, document and prioritise requirements, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria and solution specifications aligned with enterprise architecture.
Plan and coordinate system, integration and testing; manage defects and traceability; and support-controlled releases, pilots and enterprise rollouts of healthcare solutions.
Investigate incidents and recurring problems, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate resolution with technical teams and vendors, and contribute to the stability, performance, availability and security of core platforms.
Assess change impacts, support training and operational readiness, and drive user adoption of new systems and processes while minimising disruption to pharmacy and healthcare operations.
Embed Good Pharmacy Practice, POPIA, audit, security and internal control requirements in solution design, testing, implementation and operational support.
Use system data, user feedback and operational insights to recommend enhancements, automation and process optimisation across store, central and digital pharmacy capabilities.
Define and maintain system configuration standards and technical documentation across the Groups’ business units.
Manage assigned analysis and enhancement activities to agreed scope, quality and timelines, maintain accurate system documentation, and share domain and solution knowledge across the team.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, implementation partners and internal technical teams.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members and project resources.

Job Experience

3 years’ experience in system design, infrastructure or specialist support roles with significant exposure to Healthcare systems
Experience on collaborating with technical teams (developers, and senior analysts)
Experience in participating in delivering large-scale IT projects and system transformations
Retail, healthcare, or omnichannel business analytics experience (Desirable)
Knowledge of operational Pharmacy and Clinic systems (Desirable)

Education

Degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant qualification in Pharmacy with extensive IT related experience in healthcare systems)

Job Related Knowledge

Strong understanding of store and Central pharmacies’ end to end business processes
Knowledge of enterprise architecture, system integration, and data flows
Project delivery and technical experience
Understanding of IT governance, risk, and compliance (including audit and controls)
Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/DevOps practices
Extensive knowledge of the Healthcare systems (including LEAP, Delta, Allegra, Xprocure)
Understanding of data governance and reporting requirements
Exposure to automation (RPA), AI, and digital transformation in shared services
In depth knowledge of Good Pharmacy Practice & Regulations
