Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsurface Geologist to join a globally distributed team in a fully remote capacity. The role focuses on interpreting data, building subsurface models, and guiding exploration strategies within the Oil & Gas sector.

The candidate will leverage expertise in structural geology and petroleum systems, collaborating with reservoir engineers and cross-functional teams to identify promising prospects and support asset valuation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in exploration and production geology in Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Interpret geological, geophysical and petrophysical data to build subsurface models.
• Identify and evaluate hydrocarbon prospects with risk assessments and geological recommendations.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to define well targets and production potential.
• Plan and execute geological fieldwork, including seismic surveys and core analyses.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and technical summaries for management and cross-functional teams.
• Stay updated on new geological technologies and methodologies for potential adoption.
