Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsurface Geologist to join a globally distributed team in a fully remote capacity. The role focuses on interpreting data, building subsurface models, and guiding exploration strategies within the Oil & Gas sector.

The candidate will leverage expertise in structural geology and petroleum systems, collaborating with reservoir engineers and cross-functional teams to identify promising prospects and support asset valuation.

Formación

• Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in exploration and production geology in Oil & Gas.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Subsurface Geologist to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while playing a crucial role in the exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources. You will be responsible for interpreting geological data, constructing subsurface models, and identifying promising areas for exploration and production. Your expertise will be vital in guiding exploration strategies and supporting reservoir engineering efforts within the Oil & Gas industry . We are looking for an individual with a proven track record, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative environment, contributing significantly to our geological understanding and asset valuation.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to build accurate subsurface models .
• Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon prospects, conducting risk assessments and providing geological recommendations.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to define well targets, reservoir characteristics, and production potential.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of geological fieldwork, including seismic surveys and core analysis programs.
• Prepare detailed geological reports, presentations, and technical summaries for management and cross-functional teams.
• Stay abreast of new geological technologies and methodologies, advocating for their adoption where beneficial.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in exploration and production geology within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and petroleum systems.
• Excellent analytical, interpretation, and communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Demonstrated success in prospect generation and geological risk assessment.
