Placements24 is seeking a Structural Engineer for our Rustenburg office to design and analyze structural systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver safe, economical, and innovative solutions.

You should have a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering (structural major), Pr.Eng with ECSA, and 7+ years of design/analysis experience, with proficiency in Etabs, SAP2000, SAFE. This full-time role offers growth in a growing region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or BSc in Civil Engineering with structural major.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum 7 years of structural design and analysis experience.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software and knowledge of NBR/SANS standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications per codes and standards.
• Utilize Etabs, SAP2000, and SAFE for modeling and design.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design intent.
• Review shop drawings and respond to contractor queries during construction.
• Perform structural assessments and provide recommendations for existing structures.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and participate in tender evaluations.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technicians.
• Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering materials and techniques.
