The role requires deep expertise in concrete, steel and masonry systems, proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000 or Prokon, and a track record of delivering designs from concept to construction on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc Eng in Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate structural engineering experience.
• Experience in design of various building types and structural systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of new buildings and the assessment/reinforcement of existing structures.
• Develop structural analysis models and prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, standards (SANS), and project requirements.
• Conduct structural site inspections during construction to verify design compliance.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants to coordinate structural requirements.
• Manage project timelines and budgets related to structural tasks.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and draughtspersons.
• Prepare technical reports, including structural condition assessments and feasibility studies.
