Job summary

Placements24 in Klerksdorp is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to lead design, analysis, and specification of building structures, ensuring safety and code compliance. You will collaborate with architects and construction teams on diverse projects.

The role requires a BEng or BSc in structural engineering, at least 6 years of experience, and proficiency with SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE and CAD tools; Pr Eng with ECSA is a plus. A demanding but rewarding environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

BEng or BSc in Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 6 years of structural engineering experience focused on building structures.
Pr Eng registration with ECSA is desirable.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE) and CAD software.
Thorough understanding of design principles, codes and material properties.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design for new buildings and modifications using concrete, steel, and timber.
Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Collaborate with architects and design consultants to integrate systems.
Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design specs and quality.
Review shop drawings and respond to queries from contractors and site teams.
Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations and SANS codes.
