Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a creative and technically adept Solar PV System Designer to join our team. You will translate client needs and site assessments into detailed PV system layouts and electrical diagrams for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and at least 4 years of PV design experience, proficiency with PVSyst or Helioscope, and strong knowledge of inverters, storage, safety codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing photovoltaic systems.
• Proficiency with solar design software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of solar panel technologies, inverters, battery storage systems, and mounting structures.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards related to PV installations.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer scalable solar PV systems for various applications, ensuring maximum energy yield and efficiency.
• Produce detailed system layouts, wiring diagrams, and component specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the optimal placement and configuration of PV arrays.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with installation teams to provide technical support during the implementation phase.
