Placements24 is seeking a Senior Solar PV Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team in South Africa. You will lead design, development, and optimization of PV systems for commercial and utility-scale projects, applying your PV expertise to maximize performance and reliability.

The role emphasizes advanced modeling, schematics, site assessments, and energy yield analysis, with collaboration across project managers, sales, and field technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years hands-on experience in solar PV design and engineering.
• Proficiency with PV design tools (PVSyst, Helioscope) and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of South African electrical codes and interconnection requirements.
• Proactive problem solving and remote teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and engineering of solar PV systems including performance modeling.
• Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and layouts.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for potential projects.
• Perform energy yield and financial analyses using standard software.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Stay updated on PV technology, storage, and grid integration.
