You will be responsible for creating accurate system layouts, electrical schematics, and performance analyses, ensuring optimal energy production and compliance with all relevant standards. Design and engineer solar PV systems, including site assessments, system sizing, and component selection. Produce detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and installation plans. Perform energy yield assessments and financial analysis for proposed solar projects. Ensure designs comply with national electrical codes, building regulations, and grid interconnection standards. Collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution. Stay updated on the latest solar technology advancements and industry best practices.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar PV system design. Proficiency with solar design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools. Strong understanding of electrical principles, photovoltaic components, and system configurations. Knowledge of South African grid codes and relevant building regulations. Excellent attention to detail and strong spatial reasoning skills.
