Job summary

Placements24 in Mossel Bay is seeking a Lead Solar Project Engineer to drive the design, development, and execution of utility-scale and commercial PV projects. You will lead a team of engineers, oversee technical design, and ensure safety and quality standards while coordinating with procurement and construction.

The role requires a BEng in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering, 7 years in solar PV, and 3 years in a leadership capacity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in solar PV project engineering
• Minimum 3 years in lead/supervisory role
• Pr. Eng. registration or in progress advantageous
• Proficiency in PV design software (PVsyst, Helioscope) and AutoCAD
• Experience with grid interconnection studies and requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and engineering aspects of solar PV projects from concept to commissioning
• Oversee selection and integration of PV modules, inverters, and mounting systems
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for engineering tasks
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and performance simulations
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and electrical regulations
