Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Solar Project Manager to oversee large-scale solar energy projects in Cape Town. You will lead project teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This hybrid role offers flexibility with remote and on-site work, while maintaining strong collaboration and project oversight within South Africa's vibrant Western Cape energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within renewable energy, specifically solar PV.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex, utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar technologies, grid integration, and South African construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of solar energy projects, from conception and planning to construction and commissioning.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate and supervise engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codes in South Africa.
• Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and regulatory bodies.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing any potential issues that may impact project delivery.
