About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Solar Project Engineer to join their expanding team in Mossel Bay . This role is central to the design, development, and successful execution of utility-scale and commercial solar photovoltaic projects. You will lead a team of engineers, manage project technical aspects, and ensure projects meet performance, quality, and safety standards. This hybrid position allows for a mix of on-site work critical for project coordination and remote flexibility for detailed design and analysis, situated in a region known for its strong solar potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and engineering aspects of solar PV projects, from conceptualization through to commissioning.
• Oversee the selection and integration of solar components, including PV modules, inverters, and mounting systems.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources related to engineering and technical tasks.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and performance simulations for proposed solar installations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, and electrical regulations.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, construction, and project management teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.

Requirements
