Placements24 is seeking a Senior Retail Store Manager to oversee operations in George, Western Cape. The role requires strategic leadership to drive profitability, optimize efficiency, and deliver exceptional customer service in a high-volume retail setting.

You will manage sales, inventory, staff development, and compliance, while driving KPIs and maintaining a customer-centric store environment. This is a high-responsibility role within a respected retail group.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive retail management experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
• Excellent understanding of retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, and loss prevention.
• Proficiency in retail management software and POS systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or a related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed store revenue targets.
• Manage and motivate a diverse team of retail staff, fostering a high-performance culture through effective coaching, training, and performance management.
• Oversee all operational aspects of the store, including inventory control, stock management, visual merchandising, and loss prevention.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Monitor KPIs and analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Provide an outstanding customer experience, setting the standard for service excellence within the store.
• Manage store expenses and budgets to ensure profitability.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop talent within the store team.
• Liaise with head office departments regarding merchandising, marketing, and operational support.
