Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Water Resources Engineer for remote work supporting Kimberley and the Northern Cape region. You will plan, design and manage water infrastructure, including water supply, wastewater, stormwater and flood control, with a focus on sustainable solutions.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with Water Resources specialization, 8+ years of experience, PrEng registration, and proficiency in HEC-RAS/EPANET/InfoWorks. Remote work and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional experience in water resources engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA.
• Experience with hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, EPANET, InfoWorks).
• Strong knowledge of water supply, wastewater, stormwater and flood control principles.
• Familiarity with South African water legislation and standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hydrological and hydraulic analyses for water resource projects, including river systems, catchments, and groundwater.
• Design and develop water infrastructure such as pipelines, reservoirs, dams, canals, and drainage systems.
• Perform modeling of water systems using specialized software to predict performance and optimize designs.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments related to water resource projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, tender documents, and construction supervision reports.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, environmental scientists, and stakeholders on integrated water management projects across Kimberley and the Northern Cape.
