Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer for Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This fully remote role allows you to contribute to major water infrastructure projects from anywhere in South Africa.

You will lead hydrological analyses, design dams and pipelines, and perform hydraulic simulations while coordinating with stakeholders and regulatory bodies. A Pr. Eng and 8+ years experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources specialization.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience in water resources engineering and infrastructure design.
• Proven expertise in hydrological modeling and hydraulic design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological studies, water balance analyses, and demand forecasting for water resource management.
• Design and optimize water supply systems, including dams, reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment plants.
• Develop detailed designs for pipelines, canals, and associated hydraulic structures.
• Perform hydraulic modeling and simulations using industry-standard software to assess system performance and identify design improvements.
• Assess environmental impacts and develop mitigation strategies for water infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, design documentation, and tender specifications.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on water resource engineering matters.
• Stay abreast of new technologies, methodologies, and regulatory changes in the water sector.
• Oversee the construction phase of water infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with designs and specifications.
