Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Senior VoIP Engineer to design, implement, and optimize global VoIP infrastructure. You will oversee PBX, SIP trunks, and gateways, ensuring high availability and top call quality for users worldwide.

The role requires 7+ years of VoIP experience, deep knowledge of SIP/RTP/H.323, and strong networking skills. This is a fully remote position with competitive compensation and remote setup support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in VoIP engineering and telephony systems.
• Strong expertise in SIP, RTP, H.323, and other relevant VoIP protocols.
• Proficiency with leading VoIP platforms and UC solutions (e.g., Cisco, Asterisk, Microsoft Teams Voice).
• Solid understanding of IP networking, QoS, and firewall configurations for voice traffic.
• Excellent remote collaboration skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and resilient VoIP infrastructure, including PBX, SIP trunks, and gateways.
• Monitor VoIP system performance, identify issues, and implement timely resolutions to ensure optimal call quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex voice network problems, analyzing call detail records and network traffic.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, operational runbooks, and disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborate with IT and network teams to integrate VoIP solutions with other enterprise systems.
• Provide expert-level support and guidance on VoIP technologies and best practices to internal teams.
