Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join their HR and finance team on a fully remote basis across South Africa. The role focuses on accurate, timely payroll processing for a large workforce, ensuring compliance with SA labour laws and tax regulations.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of payroll experience, deep knowledge of payroll systems (VIP Premier, Sage Payroll, EasyPay) and solid HRIS proficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires matric and a payroll qualification (National Diploma in Payroll Administration or SAMTRa certificate).
• Minimum 5–7 years in payroll administration, high-volume environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SA payroll legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL, COIDA).

Responsibilities

• Administer and process payroll accurately and on time using payroll software.
• Ensure compliance with SA labour laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA) and tax regulations.
• Manage employee data, hires, terminations, salary adjustments and leave processing.
• Process statutory payments and submissions to SARS, UIF, and COIDA.
• Generate payroll reports for management and departments.
• Reconcile payroll data and investigate discrepancies.
