Placements24 is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to join a fully remote team in the telecommunications sector. You will design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect data, systems, and network resources.

Candidates should have 5+ years in network security, experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, SIEM tools, and vulnerability testing. CISSP/CCNA GIAC are desirable. This role offers remote collaboration with a distributed security team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SSL/TLS).
• Hands‑on experience with configuring and managing security appliances from major vendors (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet).
• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and log analysis.
• Proficiency in vulnerability scanning and penetration testing tools.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and architectures.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex security issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCNA Security, or GIAC are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
• Monitor network traffic and security logs for suspicious activity and potential security breaches.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Respond to security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and implement remediation actions.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the network infrastructure.
• Manage security vendor relationships and evaluate new security technologies.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
