Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer to design, deploy, and manage advanced security solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments. The role focuses on protecting digital infrastructure, with a proactive, hands‑on approach to threat prevention and incident response in a remote work setting.

You will lead security technology implementations (firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS), conduct vulnerability assessments, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in information security engineering.
• Proven expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and endpoint security technologies.
• Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, ELK Stack) and vulnerability management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy security solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Lead the implementation and management of firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security solutions.
• Conduct in-depth vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, providing actionable remediation recommendations.
• Develop and maintain security incident response plans and playbooks.
• Automate security tasks and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.
