Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to join a remote-first telecommunications team. You will design, implement, and manage security for extensive network infrastructure, drive security strategies, and respond to threats to protect data integrity.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in network security, hands-on firewall expertise (Palo Alto / Fortinet / Cisco), IDS/IPS, SIEM, and cloud security across AWS/Azure/GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in network security engineering.
• Proven expertise in configuring and managing enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco).
• Strong knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM solutions, and endpoint security.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and securing hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001.
• Excellent understanding of network protocols and architecture.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or GIAC are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and managing advanced network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and WAFs.
• Developing and enforcing security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conducting regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
• Monitoring security alerts and responding effectively to security incidents and breaches.
• Collaborating with IT and engineering teams to integrate security into all aspects of the network infrastructure.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff.
• Managing security-related vendor relationships and technologies.
• Developing and delivering security awareness training to employees.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant security regulations and standards.
