Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote HR Specialist focusing on compensation and benefits to design, implement and manage competitive programs for a distributed workforce across South Africa.

In a remote-first environment, you will ensure legal compliance with SA labour laws, benchmark against market trends, partner with Finance, and deliver clear communications and vendor management to attract and retain top talent.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in HR, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Master's degree is advantageous.
5–7 years of compensation and benefits design experience.
Knowledge of South African compensation practices and labour laws.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with data interpretation.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and compensation management software.
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.

Responsibilities

Develop and administer competitive compensation structures, including salary ranges and job grading.
Design and manage employee benefits programs.
Conduct market research and benchmarking for competitiveness.
Ensure compliance with SA labour laws.
Analyze compensation data and provide recommendations.
Collaborate with Finance on budgeting for HR programs.
Develop clear communication materials for benefits.
Manage vendor relationships for benefits providers.
Support employee queries on compensation and benefits.
Contribute to HR policies and strategies.
