Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly creative Corporate Event Planner to join a leading event management team. The role is remote-first with occasional on-site events, including in Polokwane and beyond.

You will manage end-to-end planning for conferences, launches, team-building, and executive functions. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in event planning, strong budgeting, vendor relations, and superb communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in corporate event planning with a strong portfolio.
• Budget management and financial control for events.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and virtual collaboration tools.
• Ability to work remotely and manage multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as required.
• Degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the corporate landscape in Polokwane is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute events from concept to completion.
• Develop event budgets, manage expenses, and ensure profitability.
• Source and negotiate with vendors, including venues, caterers, AV providers, and entertainment.
• Create detailed event timelines, floor plans, and run sheets.
• Manage client communication throughout the planning process, providing regular updates and seeking approvals.
• Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all logistical aspects are handled efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues before, during, and after events.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and debriefings to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in corporate event planning.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, aiming for repeat business and referrals.
