Placements24 is seeking a highly creative Corporate Event Planner for a remote-first role supporting clients from a home office, with occasional on-site duties for key events in Polokwane and beyond.

You will manage end-to-end planning of conferences, product launches, team-building activities, and executive functions, including budgets, vendor sourcing, timelines, and post-event reviews. Strong communication and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of corporate event planning experience.
• Proven experience in event budget management and financial control.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in event management software and virtual collaboration tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely.
• Creative mindset with innovative event design.
• Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
• Strong understanding of the Polokwane corporate landscape is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of corporate events from concept to completion.
• Develop event budgets, manage expenses, and ensure profitability.
• Source and negotiate with vendors, including venues, caterers, AV providers, and entertainment.
• Create detailed event timelines, floor plans, and run sheets.
• Manage client communication throughout the planning process, providing regular updates and approvals.
• Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues before, during, or after events.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and debriefings to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in corporate event planning.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, aiming for repeat business and referrals.
