Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Chemical Process Optimization Specialist to join a global engineering team from Mossel Bay. This fully remote role focuses on enhancing the efficiency, yield, and sustainability of chemical processes across multiple sites using data analytics and advanced simulation tools.

You will model improvements with Aspen Plus/HYSYS, drive measurable yield gains, and collaborate with site engineers remotely.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering with a focus on process systems engineering or optimization.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical process optimization, simulation, and data analysis.
• Expertise in using simulation tools like Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and machine learning applications in chemical engineering.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable improvements in yield, efficiency, or cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets from plant operations to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for process optimization.
• Utilize process simulation software to model and test potential improvements before implementation.
• Develop and document optimized process parameters and operating procedures.
• Collaborate remotely with site engineers and operations teams to implement and monitor optimization strategies.
• Research and recommend new technologies or methodologies for enhancing chemical process performance.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on optimization projects and their impact.
