Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Engineer to join a fully remote team, supporting operations potentially based around Klerksdorp. The role requires expert guidance on complex processes, optimization, and project execution from a remote workspace.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years in chemical process engineering, strong skills in process simulations and data analysis, and proven ability to lead virtual teams while maintaining exceptional communication and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or higher is required.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical process engineering with leadership.
• Experience with process simulation, data analysis, and modeling software.
• Ability to lead projects and collaborate in a virtual team environment.
• Excellent remote communication and presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical consultation for remote chemical process design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Lead and manage complex engineering projects from a distance.
• Develop and review process designs, P&IDs, and operating procedures.
• Conduct remote process hazard analyses and safety reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff virtually.
• Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices.
