Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Optimization Chemical Engineer to join a fully remote team. The role focuses on analyzing, developing, and implementing advanced process improvements across chemical manufacturing operations, with emphasis on optimization and scale-up.

You will work with Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, and collaborate with R&D, operations and safety, delivering reports, economic evaluations, and mentorship to junior engineers while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering.
• Proven track record in process optimization, scale-up, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD).
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, reaction kinetics, and mass transfer.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote work.
• Experience in project management and leading technical initiatives.
• Familiarity with process safety management and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed process analyses to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in chemical manufacturing plants.
• Develop and implement advanced process simulation models using Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar platforms.
• Design and oversee pilot-scale and full-scale implementation of process modifications and new technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and safety, to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies, and economic evaluations for proposed process changes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and plant personnel.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in chemical engineering technologies and industry best practices.
• Ensure all process designs and modifications comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and analyze process performance data to validate improvements and identify further optimization opportunities.
