Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer, specializing in Oil & Gas refinery operations, to join the technical team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The role focuses on optimizing performance, safety, and efficiency of refinery processes.

The ideal candidate will lead process design, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and ensure compliance with stringent industry standards while mentoring junior engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
Minimum of 8 years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas refinery operations.
Experience with process simulation software and process control systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize refinery unit operations to improve yield, throughput, and energy efficiency.
Troubleshoot process upsets and develop sustainable solutions to operational challenges.
Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate proposed changes and new designs.
Participate in PHAs and ensure safety integrity of equipment.
Develop technical specifications for new equipment and process modifications.
Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
Stay current with advancements in refinery processes and process control.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company HSE policies.
