Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for our client in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex chemical processes to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

You will engage in process simulation, equipment sizing, and process improvements for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 7 years of experience in petrochemical or chemical manufacturing,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
Minimum 7 years of relevant process engineering experience.
Proficiency in Aspen Plus, HYSYS, and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize chemical process designs including PFDs and P&IDs.
Perform process simulations to analyze and improve performance.
Specify process equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, distillation columns).
Conduct PHAs/HAZOP studies to identify safety risks.
Troubleshoot operations and implement efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with project teams during design, construction and commissioning.
Ensure designs comply with standards, regulations, and policies.
Prepare technical reports and operational guidelines for Klerksdorp facilities.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
