The ideal candidate will lead process design, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and ensure compliance with stringent industry standards while mentoring junior engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas refinery operations.
• Experience with process simulation software and process control systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer specializing in refinery operations to join their technical team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This role is critical for optimizing the performance, safety, and efficiency of refinery processes. You will be involved in process design, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned engineer to contribute to the Oil & Gas downstream sector, working within a key industrial hub in the Northern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize refinery unit operations to improve yield, throughput, and energy efficiency.

• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and ensure safety integrity of equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, with a significant focus on Oil & Gas refinery operations.
• Proven experience in process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and process control systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• In-depth knowledge of refining processes, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with PHA methodologies (e.g., HAZOP).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in an operational environment.
• Familiarity with Northern Cape industrial landscape is a plus.
• This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kimberley, requiring dedicated presence at the facility.
