About the Role

Our client, a prominent retail group, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead significant enhancements within their retail operations. This role is located in Benoni, Gauteng , with a hybrid working arrangement. You will be responsible for overseeing projects aimed at improving store efficiency, customer experience, inventory management, and operational workflows across multiple store locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail operations and project management, with a proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget. You will work collaboratively with store managers, regional managers, merchandising teams, and IT departments to drive strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic project plans for retail operational enhancements, focusing on efficiency, customer service, and profitability.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of projects, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
• Analyze current retail processes and identify opportunities for improvement, including technology adoption, workflow optimization, and staff training.
• Oversee the implementation of new retail systems, such as POS upgrades, inventory management software, or CRM platforms.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth integration of new initiatives and processes.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to maintain project momentum.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion dedicated to retail operations or retail-focused projects.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex projects within the retail sector.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, merchandising, customer service, and store management.
• Experience with retail technology solutions (POS systems, ERP, WMS, CRM) is essential.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
• Experience working in or managing projects within the Gauteng region is preferred.
