About the Role

Our client, a prominent retail group, is seeking an organized and efficient Project Manager to optimize retail operations and logistics in Soweto, Gauteng . This role is vital for improving supply chain efficiency, enhancing in-store operational processes, and implementing new retail technologies. You will be responsible for managing projects that directly impact customer experience and profitability across our retail network. This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site supervision and remote planning, ensuring effective project execution and team coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail dynamics and a proven ability to drive operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, execute, and monitor projects aimed at improving retail operations, supply chain management, and logistics efficiency. Identify operational bottlenecks and areas for improvement within store operations and distribution networks. Develop and implement process improvements, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and customer service enhancements. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful and timely project completion. Coordinate with store managers, warehouse staff, suppliers, and IT teams to implement project initiatives. Ensure smooth integration of new technologies and systems into existing retail and logistics operations. Conduct site visits and operational assessments to gather data and monitor project progress. Develop training materials and facilitate training sessions for staff on new operational procedures and systems. Prepare project reports, performance metrics, and recommendations for senior management. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and other external partners.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on retail operations, supply chain, or logistics. Proven track record of successfully managing projects that improved operational efficiency and reduced costs in a retail environment. Strong understanding of retail business processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Experience with change management and process implementation. Relevant degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
