Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a key contract based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will lead large-scale construction and infrastructure projects from conception to completion, overseeing schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder engagement.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management background, 10+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with MS Project or Primavera, plus contract administration and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Master's degree and professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Pr. Eng) are highly advantageous.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in managing large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of major construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource allocation plans, and cost estimates.
• Oversee contract administration, including tender processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and approve payment requests.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews to ensure quality standards.
