Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale infrastructure projects in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The role requires leading multidisciplinary teams through all lifecycle phases, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and strict safety standards.

Responsibilities include planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning, with a strong focus on risk management and stakeholder communication. A master’s degree is preferred and PMP/PE certification highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or professional engineer registration are highly valued.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in project management for large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and completion of major infrastructure projects in Durban.
• Develop detailed project plans: scope, schedule, budget, resources.
• Coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning activities.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across projects.
• Manage contracts with vendors, consultants, and contractors.
• Identify risks and develop contingency plans.
• Report progress and financial performance to senior management.
